Yes.

Last night I went to give Stumpy some fresh water when I noticed something… odd.

I’ve already mentioned before how he tends to throw temper tantrums whenever I don’t put things into his enclosure exactly the way he likes them, or if I give him the wrong kind of food. He just thrashes the place and throws everything around. He turns his little coconut cave upside down, digs up the little plastic trees and drags them around, up turns his food dishes, stuff like that.

Not last night.

His food dishes are little half shells. He used to have just one, but back when I ordered some new things for him they sent me another one with a free food sample. And I decided to put that one in too and use it for the new treats I got him, that way it wouldn’t get all nasty and mixed up in his regular food. One of the new things I got him are little dried fruit bites. I’ve always given him bits of fresh fruit and still do but he really seems to love the new processed fruity bits.

So anyway, when I opened his enclosure I noticed that he hadn’t turned anything upside down. But he’d actually taken the new food dish with content and placed it exactly on top of the other one lol. Didn’t look like he spilled anything either. They were perfectly lined up. one on top of the other so you couldn’t even see the old dish anymore. So that was a pretty freaking amazing thing for a hermit crab to do XD

I wonder if he’s trying to tell me that he prefers the new stuff over the old stuff and would like some moar of that and less of teh other plz…

Hahah, I knew not many people would ever get my silly choice of name for one of my WoW characters (Warlock named Juliansands). But today for the first time a stranger walking by me got it.

Of course it still took someone with a profession like that to pick up on it

The silliness of it amused me

It seems that the combination of Twitter and Facebook have kinda made it so that my blog doesn’t really get as much attention as it used to. And I don’t mean from people, I mean from me because I just don’t feel the need to write long journal entries when Twitter allows me to update people about the condition of my stool every 10 mins

So, I guess I um..

Well I don’t have any news really

Nutshell recap then?

* Saw Star Trek, loved it.
* Working on my game idea, never gonna happen.
* Got my hands on the Odd Hours paperback, finally.
* Going nuts waiting for Mass Effect 2.
* Successfully upgraded PC hardware and running Vista for the first time, liking it so far.
* Been cleaning out the guest room because we’re going to have a guest next month

And that’s pretty much it.
I might start using the blog for mad storyline ramblings for the game idea I have but we’ll see.

That’s right. Going to get some new hardware. Mainboard, CPU, video card and HDD. So it’ll be a major overhauling. I’ll be gutting my case and putting in the new stuff when it gets here (which should be today) and then a fresh install of the Vista ultimate I’ve been saving for this occasion

So anyway, depending on how smoothly everything goes I might be off-line for a while. Hopefully not too long but you know how it goes sometimes. So wish me luck

For the past few weeks Sophie’s been incredibly obsessed with several spots in the little natural stone wall in our back yard. She keeps seeing something in and around the cracks and has been running towards it and just been standing there, either with her nose pressed up against it or just staring at it, ears perked, waiting for something to come out again.

We shortened her lead a few times to snap her out of it. I don’t mind her exploring a bit, but there can be some things with a nasty bite in there too so I didn’t want her to poke around in there too much.

Today I finally heard what she heard, so I got curious as well. I went over and kept quiet and still for a while. Heard some more rustling and then a big ol’ five-lined skink (not skunk, skink) popped out from between the stones. Then about a minute after it had disappeared again a smaller and lighter colored one popped up for a bit of sunbathing. I’d gotten my camera in the mean time so I took some shots.

The sunbathing front leg position was really silly looking and it amused me. So I’ll post that one here. It kinda makes it look like a bit of a liztard.

So mystery solved. Sophie’s not nuts. She really did see something.
Well, she’s still nuts, just less than we thought

So I took a few more bear shots yesterday when the bear dropped by again. The camera settings were all screwey so they went a bit blurry, anyway, this was one of them.

Then this morning someone gave me a silly idea when I was playing WoW.
And since I was bored… I opened Photoshop and spent way too much time actually doing it

See? Deez doesn’t play WoW all the time, she gets out once in a while
