Circus Crab

June 28th, 2007

This evening I was going to give our hermit crab Stumpy (Who I named that because the poor thing was missing part of one leg when we got him, but it’s since grown back so the name doesn’t make all that much sense anymore) some fresh water and food when I saw this :

He seemed to be doing a circus balancing act on the cat ball I put in his enclosure for his entertainment.
He somehow managed to get up there on his own without falling off lol.
Definately a “now there’s something you don’t see every day” moment :)
The pic is a bit blurry but it’s the best shot I could get without startling him and making him fall off.

Empathy = the new Telepathy?

June 22nd, 2007

Something I’ve started noticing lately is that more and more people these days are simply unable or unwilling to put themselves in other people’s shoes.

They’re unnecessarily rude about subjects that might be sensitive to others.
They can complain about their problems but for some reason they just don’t understand (or care) that other people have feelings too. Like a forum post I saw the other day for instance.

Some guy was in a relationship, one of his female friends was in one too, but they loved eachother and not their current partners. Then after a long time of this going on the girl told him she’d changed her mind. The guy’s forum post was him complaining about how he felt used and depressed and that he didn’t really love his current gf at all. Wait… “he” felt used?? Ofcourse my response was, “well then you should probably talk to and break up with your current girlfriend because you’re doing the same thing (only worse) to her!” Ofcourse that logic failed to penetrate his thick skull (or it wasn’t the answer he wanted to hear).

I see so much of this these days that it scares me. Nothing and no one is important except for themselves. They just don’t seem to have the ability to even consider how what they do might affect the people around them anymore.

So that’s where my title comes in.
I think Empathy is going to become the new Telepathy. In a few years it’s going to be a rare gift only a few people will posess and something hardly anyone will remember, or possibly even believe ever existed.

I sincerely hope I’ll be worm food when that time comes.

Picking up where I left off on the 2D Chat

June 14th, 2007

I wiped my old forums, put them back online and dedicated them entirely to the project.
I’m hoping to keep at it until it’s finished this time.
Working on backgrounds at the moment.

Here’s the forum with progress and such for anyone who’s interested.

Transformers The Movie

June 5th, 2007

I was kinda looking forward to this because I used to watch the cartoon a lot as a kid.
I know, sad isn’t it? But my brothers would always watch it and it kinda was like a boys version of a soap series.
Once you’ve watched a few episodes you tend to become hooked wether you want to or not heheh.

I’d heard about there being a 2007 movie release soon, but never really bothered to look at it much. So today I did go to the site to get an idea of what they did. Well the CGI in the previews and such looked very impressive ofcourse with today’s technology. But there’s one thing they would’ve had to have done right for me to be interested, but they just seem to have ruined entirely.
It’s my favourite character, Starscream.
Now I know he’s been through a few reincarnations and such in the storyline but I just wish they could’ve given him something closer to his old look in this new CGI style. Not this :

I mean WTF?
It looks like a mix between the iron giant and Christine after she went through the metal compacter at the junkyard :/
They made Optimus Prime look at least somewhat similar to the original cartoon version so what the hell??!

THIS is freakin’ Starscream!

I know I’d probably be disappointed in the voice too though, I doubt anyone would be able to get close to that awesomely evil Starscream voice done by Chris Latta (RIP).

So even more reason to skip this movie. Bleh, was kinda looking forward to it too :(
