Well not anymore because it’s over now, but we just had a long weekend, Fri-Mon because of Memorial Day.
We spent a lot of it driving back and forth between home and Mord’s mom’s place to take care of her dog and horses because she was gone for the weekend. They were fun roadtrips though, so I didn’t mind at all.

Our last trip for the morning feeding on monday was interesting though.
We were driving along, traffic not insane but a decent amount, when we suddenly spotted something on the road. It was a turtle! Poor thing was attempting to cross the highway. We managed to avoid hitting it luckily but it was pretty unlikely that he would’ve survived the entire road. He was only about a 10th of the way across. So we made a sharp turn, headed back and stopped in the shoulder on the other side. I saw that another car only barely missed the poor thing as well so I got out, ran for him, and grabbed him.

We took him to Mord’s mom’s place, she has a nice stream next to her house and there’s not nearly as much traffic around. It was a pretty hot day so I put him on a nice flat rock next to the stream and let him go about his business.
We did take a few pics of him. He was a beautiful yellow and black Eastern box turtle with bright red eyes.
I believe there aren’t many of them around these days so I’m glad we spotted him before he got crushed.

A while back we took in an elderly stray kitty which we’d (Mord way before I even got here) been feeding daily.
It took some time for her to adjust to her new surroundings but she and Sophie (our dog) got along just fine.
And slowly but surely she became used to everything and less skittish.

Well right now I’d say she looks pretty comfy and confident.
She loves being petted and even lets me give her bellyrubs. So I don’t think trust is an issue anymore.
She’s also learnt a few tricks from Sophie. Like licking, begging for food, and their favourite, freaking me out by sitting next to eachother in the hall when I go to the bathroom, and creepily staring at the bathroom door untill come out again :/

So yeah here’s a pic of the kitty now.
I think she looks a lot more relaxed and confident than when we first took her in

Been looking for a wii for a while.
At first we didn’t really care too much but the longer we thought about it the more interesting this console seemed.

So we started scanning the gamestores, knowing very well that it was pretty unlikely for us to find one without pre-ordering or going to NYC and sleep in a sleepingbag outside of nintendoworld to be first in line lol.
Nevertheless we still checked the gamestores every once in a while when we were out for other things anyway.

Last saturday we dropped by a random gamestore again and ofcourse after asking they told us they didn’t have any. So we wandered over to the other games to have a look. I was joking about how I would hate to work at a gamestore right now because I’d probably pull the 1000th person to ask me for a wii over the counter and yell “NOOOOOOOOOOOOO WE DON’T HAVE ANY F!%@$!&G WIIIIII!!!!!!!!!1″ right in their little face.
At that point the gamestore guy walked out from behind the counter and to the storage area mumbling something which I thought was along the lines of “Actually…. I think we might actually have one”.

So I turned to tell Mord.
He didn’t even believe me at first lol but whaddaya know, the guy actually came out carrying a shiny white box

So yaay we have a wii!
It was an epic drop but I’m glad we kept grinding till we got one

And it’s scary how much fun it really is.
So much that my arm was unbelievably sore after the first 2 days lol.
I think I might actually lose more pounds playing with this thing than I will on the bowflex lol.

Since I wasn’t too impressed with Pirates of the Carribean 2 and the 3rd one’s getting cranked out really soon after, which also scares me, I don’t know if I even wanna bother going to see that.

So instead, I think I might go and see this one
