My mom got out of the hospital, yay!
They did tell her not to travel back to NL by plane too soon though. (Airpressure)
So my parents aren’t sure when exactly they’ll be going home. But at least she’s doing a lot better now.
When they do decide to head back, their travel insurance company ‘ll send a Dutch doc over to fly back with her with oxygen equipment and such just to make sure.

Hope they’ll be able to be home for Christmas, and hope my package with gifts ‘ll get to them in time

Gave my mom another call this morning.
Her drain is out now so that’s a good thing (for the people who have no idea what I’m talking about).
A few days ago the docs told my mom that she might be allowed to leave the hospital today but it’s not gonna happen.
Sounds like they’re pretty indecisive about a lot of things over there. Now she’s temporarily gonna be transported to another hospital for scans and x-rays. They just want to make sure everything is ok enough for her to fly back to NL. Apparently flying isn’t a great idea at all in that condition. Must be the difference in airpressure and such.
But their insurance has arranged for a Dutch doc to come over when she’s ready and he’ll be traveling back with her on the plane to make sure everythings alright during the flight, so that’s good at least.
Another good thing about it is that she hasn’t been smoking for 2 weeks so I really do hope she’ll keep that up after this is over aswell.

After the paper mache mess it’s good to get back to good ol’ paper and pencil.
Got some new pencils. Prismacolor’s “Verithin” variety (veri thin… hurhur!, nice one prismacolor :P),
But besides the really bad pun in the productname they’re a nice addition to my current set

Just got a phonecall from my bro.

My parents were supposed to head back to NL from Sardinia today but it’s not gonna happen because apparently my mom got rushed to the hospital with a collapsed lung
Was scared shitless when I heard it. But then my bro told me it wasn’t as bad as it sounded.
They put in the standard tube, are gonna drain it and it’s likely that she’ll be fine again in just a few days.
I’m still kinda on edge though, meh.
Makes me extra pissed that they won’t fuckin’ hurry up with my greencard. Been way too long since I’ve visited my family.
Gonna give her a call at a decent hour for them tomorrow.

Gave my mom a call this morning, she sounded just fine and assured me everything was ok.
She’s still got the draining tube but apart from that the only reason she’s still in the hosp is because recovery from something like that takes a while.
They’re keeping her there for about 2 weeks and I’m glad to hear that their travel insurance has been handling all of this very professionally. If necessary they’ll even have a doc accompany her on the flight back to NL.
So I’m so very relieved that she’s alright and in very good hands.
She did tell me that she’s been very bored in the hosp though lol.

(Edit2, DB is borked. Put in a ticket for the webhost to rollback to a few days back. So when they do that things should be ok again)

OMGWTF CRAFTS!!!!!!!!!1

I was bored one rainy day and thought: “Hey, it’s been way too long since I’ve done anything with chickenwire and paper mache!”.
And it’s true, I think the last time I used that medium was in primary school.
So we went shopping for some mats and I got my hands dirty (and cut lol).
Then I painted it and today I finally finished it off by using fabrics for the headdress.

I need to do this kinda stuff more often.
Even if it does end up looking like crap it’s still a fun passtime
