A Break…

June 30th, 2006

I’ve been addicted to WoW for quite a while now and for some reason no other game has really interested me much. We’d browse the game stores, and every now and then an interesting looking game ‘d pop up, we’d get it, but after trying it out for 20 mins or so I’d soon log back onto WoW to “check my mail and auctions real quick”, never to return to the other game again :P

However, a few days ago we picked up “Dreamfall - The Longest Journey”.
Mord said he’d played the prequel and that he’d heard that this one was supposed to be good aswell. So I said sure! why not!
While he was at work the next day I installed it on my PC. That way he’d be able to play it that evening without having to worry about wether or not his laptop would be able to run it properly.
Course I had to have a look myself too after I’d installed it, and it was… fun….
In fact, it was so much fun that I managed to play through the entire thing in 3 days lol.
I just couldn’t pull myself away from it. Which is great but also kinda sad in a way. Coz now I’m done :(

So yeah, if you like an adventure game with a great storyline, great art, character and voice work then I’d definately suggest you give Dreamfall a go.
I do have to warn the Tombraider style RPG lovers that this is definately an “adventure game”. There’s not much combat. Mostly puzzles, storyline and exploration, but that’s exactly the kinda game I love.

So I had a blast playing it and I’m looking forward to the next sequel :)

It still bugs me.

I’ve got a package ready containing birthday presents for my friend back in Holland.
And it just made me think.

What would it be like if I ever came back to Holland for a visit.
I know she’s got her own place now, but I’d still feel estranged. Even after being best friends for over 20 years.
Neither of us has mentioned anything about the parents and my bro’s ex thing, so what would happen if I actually went to visit her?
I just know it’d feel akward as hell to visit someone who you used to be able to spill your guts to and suddenly have this tension about this thing that cannot be spoken of because it’d just make things even more akward.
And what if her parents would happen to stop by while I was visiting her? …

I’d have no clue what to say.
I don’t even know if I’d want to say anything.

So I’m sending this birthday package, knowing she’ll send me one back when my birthday comes, then we’ll exchange X-mas cards… and when I really think about it, that’ll probably be the only occasions we’ll ever hear anything from eachother from now on.

So why bother?
I don’t know. I guess I just refuse to be the bastard who stops all contact first.

Pet Adjustment…

June 23rd, 2006

It’s been a quite a few months now since we brought in our stray kitty.
Eventhough she’s still a bit skittish every now and then, overall she seems to have adjusted just fine.
She’s very social, and she’s even started to play and act like a goofball.
That’s a great thing. Although our poor dog Sophie doesn’t always agree.

Additional Symptoms of Aspartame Toxicity include the most critical symptoms of all

hyperactivity in children
severe depression

suicidal tendencies

Aspartame may trigger, mimic, or cause the following illnesses:
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome
Epstein-Barr
Post-Polio Syndrome
Lyme Disease
Grave’s Disease
Meniere’s Disease
Alzheimer’s Disease
ALS
Epilepsy
Multiple Sclerosis (MS)
EMS
Hypothyroidism
Mercury sensitivity from Amalgam fillings
Fibromyalgia

Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD)

These are not allergies or sensitivities, but diseases and disease syndromes. Aspartame poisoning is commonly misdiagnosed because aspartame symptoms mock textbook ‘disease’ symptoms, such as Grave’s Disease.

Aspartame changes the ratio of amino acids in the blood, blocking or lowering the levels of serotonin, tyrosine, dopamine, norepinephrine, and adrenaline. Therefore, it is typical that aspartame symptoms cannot be detected in lab tests and on x-rays. Textbook disorders and diseases may actually be a toxic load as a result of aspartame poisoning.

Ummm… no thanks…

I bought a pack of diet cola cans instead of regular coke by mistake the other day.
I figured it’d be a waste to not drink the disgusting little buggers.
But I think I just changed my mind. I’m just gonna trash em :P

A Lifelong Obsession…

June 15th, 2006

It’s those damn dragons. I started drawing them before I even got into kindergarten.
I can’t help but draw them while I’m brainless or while I’m staring at the tv or waiting somewhere and there’s a piece of paper and a pen or pencil within reach.

The problem is, like with any of my art, Nothing good =Ever= comes out when I try…
It’s always the ones I don’t plan that turn out the least crappy.
And if I even try to touch them afterwards to put some detail, features or thought into them they instantly shatter into crappiness.

It’s very frustrating.

Remakes never work…

June 12th, 2006

Or do they? :D

I’ve just finished watching the first season of BBC’s remake of Doctor Who.

Unfortunately I don’t remember much about the original series.
I know I wasn’t even born when it first started.
And I was just a little girl for the rest of them and the old reruns.
Not that I’ve ever spotted any reruns when I was old enough to appreciate it unfortunately.

So seeing as how I do remember tiny bits and pieces like the theme music and other various things I’m guessing my older brothers probably watched the show.
While I was… umm… I dunno, playing with my toy dinosaurs probably :)

Anywho (pun intended), I really enjoyed the first season of the series’ remake.
The Doc was absolutely awesome fantastic!, and it just seems hard to top him. (I know Spec, I’m not gonna knock the new guy just yet and I’ll definately give him a chance and watch the next season when it gets here :) ).
But yeah, so far it’s been a very pleasant surprise.

So I definately recommend watching it for both people who have or have barely seen the original series.
I know it won’t be for everyone, but definately worth checking out at least.
