Cheeky GM’s! :P

January 31st, 2006

I already posted this on the MEH forums but I wanted to share it here aswell.

Yesterday I was questing in STV (Stranglethorn Vale, an area in WoW) with my Tauren Dustwalker.
When I went back to Booty Bay to turn in some quests I realised that the door of the inn there is
a tad too small for Tauren. So I had to manouver and wriggle a lot to finally get her through that door.
I know there are other ways to get in there but I found it kind of annoying.
So since I imagine Blizzard would like to know about these things so they can improve the game I decided to petition a GM ticket.

This is what happened later that day :P

(I distorted the GM’s name just in case Bliz gives their GM’s a hard time for having a sense of humor)

Still laughing my arse off every time I read that XD

Everquest II

January 30th, 2006

Yesterday I downloaded the trial of “EQII Trial of the Isle”.
Mord was getting it and I thought “Oh why the heck not”.

I was a bit hesitant because I heard a lot about it and it seemed to be the most popular MMORPG out there.
So the reason I was hesitant was because I didn’t wanna get addicted to yet another one of those games heheh.

The download was pretty fast, the updates took a bit longer.
But we finally got it and were ready to play.

…..

Oh…. My……. God….. (yes this one deserves to be spelled out entirely)

WHAT A PIECE OF CRAP!!!
Lmao! XD

Here I was expecting the king of all MMORPG’s
And it turns out to be a halfbaked looking game with crappified poser models,
Horrible environmental art, and the controls and animations were just so bad they were frightening.
After being used to the WoW controls and interface EQ is just unplayable.

After that experience I’m not surprised WoW is so full that there’s a queue to get in in the evenings now lol.
Man…. am I glad…
Glad that I bought an awesome game.
And glad I’m not one of those stubborn people who get all patriotic about their game and cling to it no matter how much better another game is.

I downloaded it, I tried it, I was excited about it and was expecting something good.
And granted, there are some great features which WoW doesn’t have like being able to move objects around in the world and player housing.
But man… the game itself is just really really bad.

Even the /pizza feature doesn’t make up for that level of crappiness.

When the servers are down

January 18th, 2006

I doodle.

Well.. I did yesterday anyway.
Not much detail or thought in this one, just a random draggy doodle.

[edit]
here’s an ultra fast lil sketch I did today. Seems I’m stuck drawing dragons again heh.
Kind of a random rough doodle so I don’t wanna start a new post for this.

Does 22 years of friendship mean anything?

January 6th, 2006

I’ve known a girl for 22 years. I first met her in kindergarten.
I’ve always considered us to be best friends. We were prettymuch always together and even her and my parents started visiting eachother constantly and ended up being good friends.

A few years back my eldest bro got a divorce. His wife left him for one of her collegues at work.
So that was a pretty shitty thing.
She stopped all contact with us prettymuch (guess she was too ashamed to face us), except with my bro because they have a kid so they arrange visitation and stuff.
Now, eventhough I was pretty young when her and my bro first got together I had a feeling this event would come one day.
Before my bro, she was my bro’s best friend’s girlfriend. So when I heard that he basically took her from his best mate, eventhough I might not have known the word Karma, I knew that it existed and that it was definately gonna come back for him some day. (probably gonna come back to her collegue too, because I doubt she’ll ever change, but I don’t know him so I don’t really care).
Still crappy for my bro though, no one should have to deal with such a deceitful lil bitch.
But I’m glad he’s rid of her. She’s always been a bit of a psychotic fruitloop with a lot of odd quirks.
Everyone knew and saw that. Even my best friend’s parents and mine would talk about it.

Now for the actual topic.
As soon as my bro’s ex moved out after the divorce, my best friend’s parents immediately jumped in to help her move into her new house. They were there all the time… WTF?
They prettymuch stopped visiting my parents. Never gave a reason. Even my mom’s and her mom’s friday afternoon shopping trips which had been ritual for years and years ended.
Now the only thing I can think of is my bro’s ex having said that my parents had said something bad about them.
Which quite frankly is the oldest trick in the book. And if they fell for that I’d be very disappointed in them. Thought they were smarter than that. Especially after knowing what she’s capable of.
Or maybe they’re only interested in younger friends to go barhopping with. (I’m really trying here)
But if that was the case then I’d imagine they’d have the sense to pick someone else, not the one person that has been so hurtful to my family.
I’m angry. But to be honest I’m even more stumped and baffled. You would think you’d know someone after being around them for 22 years.

I haven’t been around in The Netherlands for a while so I figured as a sign of good will, and to show that I won’t lower myself to behaving like a bastard I still sent them a christmas card.
I know they’re always very early sending out their cards to make sure they’re on time, so early that they’d usually arrive way before christmas, but it’s almost a week after new years now and I still haven’t seen one.

So to answer the question in my topic.
I guess not :(
