Question Everything…

November 30th, 2005

Why is the cross the symbol of the Christian religion ?

On memorial day people don’t walk around with little gold pendants of an enemy gun or a soldier with his guts hanging out do they?
Sure Jesus said him ending up on the cross was how it was supposed to go down, but isn’t that true for his entire life? I’d much rather see a pendant with him standing on a stage teaching people.

And why is it ok for some people to take one religious rule (which I haven’t even been able to find anywhere) seriously, but totally ignore another (definately existing) one?
Like gay marriage in the US (and some other countries) for instance.
“No you can’t marry someone of the same sex!”
“However if you make a promise to God himself to stay with someone in holy matrimony for better or worse till death do you part….. ehr… well that one’s not really important so… it’s ok to break that promise”.
I say if you’re hellbent on keeping gay marriage illegal, then divorces should be illegal too.
And while yer at it, get rid of that “The US is a free country!” thing, because it doesn’t apply anymore and spouting that is just making ya look stupid.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not bashing religion, I’m just bashing stupid people.

And stupid people exist everywhere, also in science.
People who go: “I want to find out the truth!! (unless it involves anything religion related because it’s my mission to disprove that theory at any cost)”
And hey, even those scientists are religious themselves, look at the evolution theory they cling to like puppies to a bitch’s teets :P The missing link has never been found, yet they’ve already adopted it as the undeniable truth.

If you really want to find out the truth you need to be openminded and consider EVERYTHING as a possibility.
A real scientist doesn’t want to prove a theory, or disprove a theory.
A real scientist wants to find out the truth no matter what it is.

The person who came up with the big bang theory was a Belgian Christian Priest fer crying out loud.
Apparantly he was a good buddy of Einstein (who was also raised a Christian).
Now there’s some true scientists for you. Not letting beliefs cloud their mind yet not disregarding them either.
Wish there were more people like that around today.

Then there’s the really devout anti religion people. (Oh ya know I gotta dig into those… :) )
Who proudly announce that they KNOW that there is no God or afterlife and that they’re right and everyone else is wrong.
To those people I say:
Yaknow what? When you guys die…. there are two possible scenarios…

1. The religious people were right, you burn or get no love or whatever happens to nonbelievers in the afterlife, and believers get to point and laugh at you and go: “HAHAH! I told ya so!”

2. You were right, but that means you are no more, so you don’t even GET to gloat or say “I told ya so” ya dumbass! XD

Either way ya lose when yer one of those people lol. So hey, if you don’t believe, don’t believe. I can respect that decision. But don’t be obnoxious and try to convert people. It’s not like yer gonna help em get to a better place when they die so the entire thing yer doing is kinda pointless :P

There, I bashed hypocritical religious people, biased scientists and extremist non believers.

I’ll be able to sleep well tonight now :P
